Central NC Fruit and
Vegetable Planting Calendar

It's that time already! The winter has set in, but planning for your spring fruit and vegetable crops is upon us. For cool season vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, and kale; now is the time to be planting transplants or seeding in the greenhouse to have transplants to plant within the month. As far as spring and summer vegetables, it's still a little early, but if you want to grow out transplants for a specific crop and you don't have your seed, now is the time to get out and order and buy the seed. Below is a link that contains a planting calendar for all the fruits, vegetables, and herbs that can be grown here in Central North Carolina. This is a great tool to use to plan out your crops for the upcoming growing season. If you haven't already, make sure you take a soil sample of your garden before you plant anything to avoid future crop failure and disappointment. For specific vegetable or fruit questions, please contact your local Horticulture Agent; Brad Thompson; at 910-576-6011. http://content.ces.ncsu.edu/central-north-carolina-planting-calendar-for-annual-vegetables-fruits-and-herbs
