It’s hard to believe that summer is almost here! Montgomery County 4-H is excited about the workshops and camps that we will be providing this summer to our young people.

4-H Summer Adventures is a special program sponsored by Montgomery County 4-H through N.C. Cooperative Extension. Activities are open to all youth ages 5-18. Workshops are designed for specific age groups and there are limited spaces. (Please do not register your child for a class that is not for their age). We invite you to join us for a fun and exciting time. You do not have to be a 4-H member to participate.

Check out our class offerings here:

A couple of things to note about Montgomery County 4-H Summer Adventures this year:

To enroll in 4-H Summer Adventures, registration is required in the 4-H online system. This system handles all of our liability and conduct agreement paperwork. Access it via 4-H Online.

You will need to create a profile for your child before registration day. Be sure to choose “Montgomery County” when registering your child. If you are not in the 4HOnline system and approved, you will not be able to sign up for classes or your registration will be delayed until you complete the online enrollment. If you are having trouble enrolling your youth in 4-H, please give us a call at (910) 576 – 6011.

Please fill out the registration form online or in person at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Office from May 3rd – 23rd.

To ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to participate in workshops, we will be using a ranking system. Youth will indicate on each workshop they want to participate in by clicking first, second or third choice. An effort will be made to include youth in all of the workshops they want to participate in, but due to space limitation this may not be possible. You will be notified which workshops your youth has been placed in on Tuesday, May 28th. Please check email on this date.

Workshop fees must be paid at the Extension Office, located at 203 West Main Street, Troy, on May 29th from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. All payments must be received by May 31st. We accept cash or check. Failure to pay registration fees by May 31st, may result in your youth being replaced by a youth from the waitlist. No registration for Summer Adventures will be accepted over the telephone.

If you have any questions regarding Montgomery County 4-H Summer Adventures, please email Chrissy Haynes at chrissy_haynes@ncsu.edu or call (910) 576 – 6011.
