Halloween is drawing near, time for fall festivals, candy, final harvests and PUMPKINS. Did you know that a new world record for heaviest pumpkin was set this year? A whopper of a gourd, named appropriately Michael Jordan, weighed in at 2,749 lbs. at the 50th annual World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off. Sydney Page of the Washington Post writes of the event in their recent article.

Have you picked pumpkins up this year from a local Montgomery County vendor? Pay Christy’s Country Produce in Candor a visit for all your produce needs including pumpkins. Check out these Wolfpack themed designs shared by NC State on their website. Be sure to post a picture on your social media and include #packpumpkins. Also, save those seeds! You can grow your own pumpkins next year, or roast them and enjoy as a heart healthy snack.
