Spring is Right Around the Corner… Are you prepared?

The vernal equinox, or the beginning of spring, is March 19. The landscape is already starting to show signs. Trees are budding out, the grasses are growing, and some flowers are already in bloom around Montgomery County. In today’s edition of Flora Friday, we highlight some local farm and garden suppliers. Next month we will feature some early spring blooms popping up around us. In the meantime, take a stroll and be on the lookout for emerging flowers and green in the landscape. Exploring and shopping locally is a great way to connect to nature and support your community businesses.

Regional Agricultural Suppliers

Numerous businesses within an hour’s drive of Troy offer agricultural products. The following suppliers are presented in no particular order, and listing does not serve as an endorsement. When you visit, you will learn our local suppliers are all friendly, helpful, and welcoming of new and returning customers.

In the Biscoe area, P.R. Moore and Tractor Supply meet the needs of local farmers and gardeners. To the Northeast, Star Feed and Seed offers a variety of products as well as buildings, greenhouses, trailers, and other services like UPS shipping and U-Haul rentals. A little further east just over the Randolph County line is a hidden treasure, a hobbyist’s dream that doesn’t disappoint – Seagrove Orchids. Finally, here in the county seat is Montgomery Farm and Garden. See below for owner testimonials, photos, websites where you can find the business address and current hours.
