All youth aged 5-18 are welcome to join our community and explore the many opportunities 4-H has to offer. To participate in any 4-H programs or activities, all youth must be registered through the 4-H Online system. Please note that for enrollment purposes, a child must be at least 5 years old as of January 1 of the current year to participate. Whether you are joining a specific club or registering as a “Member at Large,” we are excited to have you!

Below are some instructions for joining Montgomery County 4-H! 

Part 1: Creating Your Family Account

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to v2.4honline.com and click on Sign Up.

  2. Select Your State: Select North Carolina from the drop-down menu.

  3. Select Your Institution: Choose North Carolina 4-H Youth Development.

  4. Create Your Profile: Select Montgomery County, enter your email, and create a passwordTip: Write down your login information so you don’t forget it!

  5. Verify Address: Enter and verify your mailing address.

Part 2: Adding a Youth Member

Once your family account is set up, you can add individual children to the profile.

  1. Select Program: Select 4-H as the program you would like to join and click Next.

  2. Participation Type: Select “I want to join 4-H as a New or Returning 4-H Member”. This allows your child to participate in any 4-H activity.

  3. Choosing a Club: Read the club information. If you aren’t ready to join a specific club yet, sign up as a “Member at Large”. Members at Large can still participate in all programsWarning: Do not hit the “Back” button in your browser, or you may have to start over!

  4. Select Projects: Select a topic your child is interested in or choose the 4-H New Member Guide.

  5. Questions & Custody: Click “Show Questions” and answer all fields You must provide the full first and last names of anyone authorized to pick up your child.

  6. Health Information: Click “Show Health Forms”. This information is kept private and is vital for your child’s safety during events.

  7. Consents: Click “Show Consents” and read all information carefully before signing.

Part 3: Finalizing Enrollment

  1. Confirm: Review all entered information and click Confirm.

  2. Approval: Your profile will be sent to the 4-H Agent for review. You will receive an email confirmation once it is approved.

Add More: To add another child, simply click the blue “Add Member” button and repeat the steps.

Once your registration in 4-H Online is approved, you will start receiving email communications about all the exciting opportunities available throughout the year. This includes updates on 4-H Presentations in April, our Summer Fun programs, livestock events, and local club meetings. In addition to our email newsletters, be sure to follow our Facebook page to stay updated on all upcoming events and see what our 4-H’ers are up to in the community!
