— Written By

The next Montgomery Grown Series class is titled Growing Pumpkins in Montgomery County. This class will cover topics such as variety selection, soil preparation, disease and insect management, and water management. Not only will you learn about how to grow pumpkins, but you can also sign up to compete in the Montgomery County Giant Pumpkin Contest! By attending the class, you will receive the seed for the pumpkins to be grown for the contest. Atlantic Giant pumpkins will be the variety of choice again this year. If you’re interested in growing pumpkins or participating in the contest, register online here or call the Montgomery County Extension Office at 910-576-6011.
